Real Property Operations Detachment Petawawa is recruiting for a Labourer to work from November 19, 2026 to May 5, 2027 (flexible). This position is 40 hours per week with the potential for overtime. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 6:30am to 3:00pm. Overtime and winter call-ins may be required based on operational requirements and weather conditions.
Duties:
- General grounds maintenance and labour duties.
- Fall cleanup, including leaf collection and debris removal.
- Snow and ice removal from sidewalks, entrances, and other designated areas.
- Operation of snow blowers and use of hand tools such as shovels and ice chippers.
- Application of sand and salt to maintain safe walking surfaces.
- Minor fence repairs and maintenance.
- Loading, unloading, and moving materials, tools, and equipment.
- Safe operation of tools and equipment.
- Reporting hazards, equipment issues, and safety concerns.
- Other related duties as assigned.

- Valid, unrestricted provincial driver's licence.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a DND 404 driver's licence.
- Ability to perform physical labour, including lifting, carrying, walking, standing, bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, reaching, and crouching.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, snow, and ice.
