Technical Support Representative-Installation Technician

Whitewater Internet is looking for an individual to join our team! We are recruiting for a Technical Support Representative-Installation Technician. This is a part-time to full-time position. The expected hours for this role are 15 to 40 per week (more hours available in the spring and summer, less in the winter). This position is Monday to Friday with weekends and on call as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Logging installations, service calls, and network changes in ticketing systems
• Communicating clearly with customers about service status, expectations, and basic troubleshooting steps
• Installing and configuring customer equipment
• Testing signal strength and throughput to ensure customer has best signal possible
• Diagnosing and resolving connectivity issues (signal degradation, interference, weather damage, equipment failure) both remotely and on-site to ensure the network is operating efficiently
• Performing routine inspections of towers, generators, batteries, and network gear
• Climbing towers and rooftops to mount, align, and configure fixed wireless radios, antennas, and access points, ensuring proper line-of-sight to base stations

• No experience is necessary for this role as training will be provided
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid G Class driver’s license
• Comfortable working at heights of up to 150ft with associated fall protection gear (provided)
• Comfortable working with power tools
• Comfortable with some physical labour in all weather conditions
• Good with computer basics and technology in general
• Ability to complete any necessary training, at company expense
• Ability to work both in a team and independently
• Ability to follow health and safety procedures and installation guidelines
• Ability to identify and select appropriate equipment and hardware for site specific installations
• Willingness to regularly travel up to 50 km from Beachburg, at company expense
• Willingness to work outside of regular business hours and be on call when necessary, including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Personable, reliable, efficient, with a good work ethic
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English

• Communication skills in French
• Working at heights certification (we can provide this)
• First Aid course  (we can provide this)
• Experience with fall arrest gear
